When I was 4, I got the best present I could ever wish for, my little brother James. Like me, he was born premature, but he became ill and ended up in a coma in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. They saved his life and I set out to run a mile for every month I have had him, to say thank you and raise money so that more boys and girls can grow up with their brothers and sisters.
I could never have dreamed what would happen. I ended up running a marathon for every year I had James, I ran with so many incredible people and raised over £770,000 for life saving equipment. I won some amazing awards, including The Pride of Britain Young Fundraiser of the Year.
Running gave me confidence that I never had. It showed me that no matter how small you are, if you are prepared to work hard, you can make a big difference. I would love to inspire other children with my story. Click on the video here to see my story in full.
